A. MACHINE CUT STONE
They are used in construction of walls of a house, fencing, underground water tanks, septic tanks etc. the sizes of these stones are considered depending on the purpose of the wall being constructed
These are natural stones available in different sizes and grades which includes:
Grade one: it is of the best quality and it is sold per piece.

  • 4” x 9” are mainly used on non-load bearing walls which are the minor partitioning walls of a building e.g. washrooms.
  • 6” x 9” are mainly used on non-load bearing walls which are the main partitioning walls of a building. E.g. bedrooms
  • 9” x 9” are normally used on load bearing walls, which are the main walls of a building i.e. all external walls.

Grade two:  it is the second best quality and it is sold per piece.

  • 4” x 9” are mainly used on non-load bearing walls which are the minor partitioning walls of a building e.g. washrooms.
  • 6” x 9” are mainly used on non-load bearing walls which are the main partitioning walls of a building. E.g. bedrooms
  • 9” x 9” are normally used on load bearing walls, which are the main walls of a building i.e. all external walls.

FOUNDATION STONES

9” x 9”
These type of stone is manually mined with hands, it is very strong to break and it is non-polar. They are used in construction of a house from the hard surface level to the ground level. They are used to ensure that the house is strong beneath or can be used as desired by client.


B. AGGREGATES/BALLAST/KOKOTO/GRAVEL

These are also refereed as BALLAST/KOKOTO. They are normally used in concrete to make shutter, slab, columns and beams and road construction or as desired by the client. It is sold in tonnage.

. They are available in different sizes which includes:

  1. 1½” inch-38 mm
  2. 1” inch-25 mm
  3. ½” inch- 12 mm
  4. ¼” inch- 6 mm
  5. ¾” inch-18 mm
  6. QUARRY DUST/ VUMBI- used to lay cabros or as desire.


C. SAND

It is a hard material that gives strength and sustainability to the building. It is sold in tonnage.

It is categorized into two i.e.

  1. Rock sand: this is obtained after crushing of rock into fine particles and is highly used in concrete mix for beams, columns, and slab or as desired by client. It is black in colour. .It’s sold in tonnage
  2. River sand: this is obtained direct from the river or oceans. It is highly used in finishing eg plaster, screed etc. it is also used in mortar to join the stones during construction. .It’s sold in tonnage.
  3. Mai mahiu
  4. It is grey in colour .It’s sold in tonnage.

D. HARDCORE 

  • NON-POLARS

This type of Hardcore is used to backfill excavated area like soak pit/soak trench, formation of road, drive way, foundation and so on. It can also be used as desired, it’s a hard stone which doesn’t absorb water.

POLARS/SOFT
It can be used to backfill or as desired.
E. KWARE WASTE
It can be used to backfill or as desired.
